How big will my group be?

We don't know for sure until the day before the trek. On the Marangu and Machame Routes, you may hike with 5-7 climbers because these routes are so popular.

What are the sleeping accommodations like?

On the Marangu Route, the first two huts sleep four people each, and the last hut is dorm-style with bunk beds. On the other routes, you sleep in large tents, two people each.

Can I get a visa at the border?

Yes, but try to get one ahead of time to make your entry into the country as easy as possible.

What money do I need?

U.S. dollars are accepted most places, so you won't need to change much money into Tanzanian Shillings. You may want to bring small bills. Travelers cheques are accepted in Tanzania but not credit cards. There is a bank in Moshi that will cash travelers cheques and change money. There is also an ATM, but it is not 100% reliable.
