Dubrovnik Walking Tour (Game of Thrones Sites Visited) (B)
Following breakfast, we'll head to old town for a short and informative morning walking tour of Dubrovnik (lovingly known as King's Landing for Game of Thrones fans). With a Local Guide we'll see the highlights of Dubrovnik, including the famous old town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Lovrijenac Fortress, and beautiful street and parks. Our local guide will also try to intermix this tour with a good dose of Game of Thrones facts and trivia, and point out filming locations and scenes that were filmed here.
Following the tour, we end back in old town where you'll have the remainder of the afternoon is free. We recommend that you take a walk on the famous upper walls of the city (extra cost), explore the old city a bit more, take the nearby cable car trip up to the hills above the city for stunning views (tickets available for purchase at cable car base), and/or enjoy sunset views at the famous Buza Cafe located on the outside of the walls with stunning views overlooking the ocean.
Optional Montenegro Day Trip (B)
Today is a leisure day to spend as you wish. OR why not join the optional group excursion to the beautiful country of Montenegro, a tiny country that is said to be Europe's best kept secret.
Departing from Dubrovnik with a knowledgeable local guide, we'll travel about an hour to the border and cross into Montenegro (no Visa needed for US and Canadian citizens - just a passport). A journey that is as beautiful as its destination, the ride is dotted with amazing sights. Our first standout sight is the Bay of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage–listed landmark and one of Europe’s southernmost fjords. We'll spend the day explore the towns around the Bay of Kotor, then if time permits cross the Bay of Kotor by ferry to capture some of the region’s postcard-perfect views before returning to Dubrovnik. If you didn't sign up for the optional tour, then today is a leisure day to relax and explore on your own
Optional Korcula & Peljesac Day Tour including Wine Tasting (B)
When it comes to Croatian wine, Korcula and Peljesac are two spectacular destinations always come to mind. The Peljesac peninsula and the beautiful island of Korcula (which, as the story goes, is the birthplace of one of the world’s greatest travelers: Marco Polo) will warmly welcome you. The Peljesac and Korcula tour from Dubrovnik will show you the famous scenic peninsula that reaches out into the Adriatic Sea. The Mediterranean vegetation and picturesque vineyards that cling to the rocky hillsides will leave you absolutely speechless. Included is a stop to enjoy some wine tasting at a local winery.
Island Hopping Day Tour to Elaphite Islands (B)
Today is an included island hopping tour to the Elaphite Islands, a group of thirteen islands located to the north-west of Dubrovnik, several of them are inhabited. Today’s tour will visit the three most beautiful islands - Kolocep, Lopud and Sipan. You can go for a swim in a crystal clear sea, wander around in the shade of Mediterranean vegetation, explore interesting small villages or simply take a journey through the local cuisine, it’s up to you! This is a perfect place to get away from busy towns and the hustle and bustle of life since there are no vehicles at all on two of them, and only a few on the third. The highlight of the tour is the largest of the islands – Sipan. Artifacts discovered here show that this island was already inhabited in the time of the Romans. There are many examples of its rich historical heritage, such as ancient villas and old churches on the island, but we’ll also visit other secret places rich with natural beauty.
Optional Full Day Tour to Mostar & Kravice Falls, Bosnia (B)
Today, for those who signed up for the optional tour, we venture through the interior of Croatia and into the country of Bosnia-Herzegovina (no Visa needed for US and Canadian citizens - just a passport) for a full day visit to the medieval town of Mostar and the stunning waterfalls of Kravice. Possible stops along the way could include Imotski and Procitelj, but our primary stop will be the town of Mostar, an ancient town and a wonderful modern mixture of cultures and heritages. Here we'll explore Mostar's history-steeped streets, narrow alleyways, and famous arched bridge over the river with our guide. We'll then head back to Dubrovnik, stopping along the way (weather and itinerary permitting) at Kravice Waterfalls, where we can wander through the postcard-perfect park and take in its many natural waterfalls. We may even get enough free time to swim in the lower lake or wander park and explore the charming setting. If you didn't sign up for the optional tour, then today is a leisure day to relax and explore on your own.
Trip Ends After Breakfast (B)
