Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1
Arrive San Jose. Evening Group Trip Orientation.

Arrive in San Jose and meet at the assigned hotel (details to be provided). If you purchased airport transfers through us, then you are met at the airport and transferred to our nearby hotel. This evening you will have a chance to meet your Trip Leader and your fellow members who you will be traveling with for the week. Today most will be strangers, but by week’s end they will feel like friends for life!

Please Note: for logistical and weather purposes, we often switch the order of days in which all activities are done. Your guide will fill you in on the exact order during the Trip Orientation on Day 1 (complete details of the Trip Orientation will be included in the Pre-Departure Dossier which will be emailed to you before departure)

Day 2
La Fortuna - Ziplining Tour (B)

Getting an early start, we'll drive a few hours through the mountainous Costa Rican countryside to the beautiful town of La Fortuna. On arrival, we will head out for our chance to play "Indiana Jones meets Tarzan" by flying through the jungle treetops on an exhilarating canopy zipline course. The evening is free to explore the exciting town of La Fortuna with your fellow travel mates.

Day 3
Optional Horseback Ride. Evening Included Hot Springs. (B)

In the afternoon, we're off on a much-anticipated and included visit to soak in the Baldi natural hot springs and recover from the day's adventures.

This morning however is free day to spend as you like OR why not continue your adventures with a highly recommended optional scenic horseback ride through the Costa Rican countryside. Riding these well taken care of and beautiful horses will give you the opportunity to see nature and the true beauty of Costa Rica up close. This is a great chance to see the volcano in the distance and to spot toucans, monkeys and many other unique animals along the way. Even if you are a beginner, the guides will show you how to enjoy this trip to its fullest.

Day 4
Leisure Day. Fun Hike to Lake on Side of Volcano. (B)

Should you feel the urge to join the group, we’ll take an informal hike up the wooded lower slopes of Arenal volcano to a mountain-side lake. It’s only a few miles, but a great workout and great views.

Day 5
Optional Canyoneering Tour. (B)

This morning, if you chose to add this optional activity, we'll head out on the ultimate waterfall adventure – we'll strap on a harness and with the help of our guides we will trek through a beautiful jungle canyon and rappel down multiple tropical waterfalls. After the thrill of the descent, we will enjoy a well-deserved typical Costa Rican lunch. And don’t worry, this trip is great even if you’ve never done it before. The guides will walk you through the steps and assist you throughout. Otherwise, the day is yours to spend at your leisure.

Day 6
AM Free Afternoon transfer to San Jose. (B)

Today we have the morning free to spend as you like. In the afternoon we travel back to Alajuela in the capital city of San Jose where we'll enjoy one last night of fun with our new found and old friends before catching our flights home the following morning.

Day 7
Trip ends, transfer to airport if purchased. (B)

Trip ends after breakfast. If you purchased airport transfers through us, you are picked up at the hotel and transferred to the airport to catch your flight home.
