At 12:00 noon, meet in the hotel lobby for the Group Trip Orientation meeting. Here you'll meet your Local Guide, as well as your fellow group members who will be with you for the week. Following the meeting, at about 1:00pm, you’ll head out with your guide for a tour of Istanbul, including a short visit to the Egyptian Spice Bazaar and a cruise along the European and Asian shores of the Bosphorous.

Overnight Istanbul.

Day 2
Istanbul City Tour. Fly to Izmir. Transfer to Kusdasi. (B)

After breakfast, you’ll be picked up by your guide and enjoy a fully guided tour of Istanbul; the only city to span two continents. Visits may include the Blue Mosque, St Sophia Museum, Turkish and Islamic Arts Musuem and the Hippodrome.

This afternoon, we will be transferred to airport for the flight to Izmir and upon arrival transferred to Kusadasi. At night enjoy the evening with your fellow group members.

Overnight Kusadasi.

Day 3
Tour of Ephesus. (B)

Today you will immerse yourself in history with a guided tour of the 10th century Greek city of Ephesus. Here you will also visit the site of the Temple of Artemis. After enjoying the mystical atmosphere of the ancient city and theatre, you’ll continue to the former Greek village of Sirince, famous for its fruit wines. Carpet weaving has long traditions in Turkey and at the carpet village we learn how the carpets are made by hand and what determines their value.

Temple of Artemis: also known as the Temple of Diana, it was a Greek temple dedicated to an ancient, local form of the goddess Artemis. It was completely rebuilt three times, and in its final form was one of the “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.” (source: Wikipedia)

Overnight Kusadasi.

Day 4
Visit to Calcium Terraces of Pamukkale & the Ancient City of Hierapolis. (B)

This morning we will enjoy a display of locally handcrafted leather goods before heading Pamukkale; one of the highlights of the trip. Pamukkale is famous for its stunning turquoise blue mineral rich thermal waters that have flown down the hillside creating a series of magnificently beautiful white calcium terrace pools known as Travertines.

We will also tour the ancient city of Hierapolis, an ancient Roman spa town from about 190 B.C. Included here are ruins of the of the Antique Pool, also known as Apollo’s Pool, which was destroyed by an ancient earthquake. Here you’ll be able to take a swim amongst the submerged ancient columns in the hot springs that were used in Roman times for their therapeutic powers.

Overnight Pamukkale.
