Join us on this locally guided group tour as we explore the best of Eastern Europe. This multi-city trip visits the picturesque and charming historic cities of Prague, Czech Republic, Vienna, Austria, and Budapest, Hungary. A must do for anyone visiting Eastern Europe.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1:
Arrive Prague. PM Group Orientation


Arrive into Prague, Czech Republic. If you purchased airport transfers from us, you are met at the airport and transferred to the group hotel. Airport arrival instructions will be emailed to you as part of the comprehensive Pre-Departure Dossier we will send you about 3 weeks in advance of the trip.

The trip officially begins with an early evening Group Orientation Meeting held at the hotel (details provided before departure). Here you will get a chance to meet your Trip Leader, as well as all of your fellow travel companions for what is sure to be the beginning of many great friendships!

Day 2:
Full Day Tour of Prague (B)


We start this tour off right with a visit of the incredibly beautiful city of Prague. Sights seen today might include the charming Old Town Square, Prague Castle, St. Vitus' Cathedral, the renowned Astronomical Clock, and the 14th century Charles Bridge.

Day 3:
Leisure Day to Explore Prague (B)


Today is a leisure day to explore the wonderful city of Prague with your fellow travel mates. Relax at one of the famous coffee shops, visit a museum, stroll the parks and visit other sites that suit your particular interest. Your Trip Leader will have plenty of ideas for you.

Day 4:
Prague to Vienna (B)


In the morning after breakfast, we leave this charming city for a city of equal importance and beauty. We travel 5-6 hours through the lush countryside, passing quaint villages and ancient towns, and arriving in Vienna located at the foot of the mighty Alps Mountain range. Steeped in a fascinating history of music and culture, Vienna will be your home for the next two nights.

Day 5
Full Day Tour of Vienna (B)


Today your guide will take you on a full day tour of Vienna. Home to one of Europe’s most powerful historical dynasties, the Habsburg royal family ruled much of Eastern Europe from Vienna. Places you may see include Hofburg Palace, the home of the Austrian President and former royal home of the Habsburg Dynasty, Parliament Building, the stunning Opera House and historical St. Stephen's Cathedral. You’ll even catch a glimpse of the places where Mozart became famous.

Day 6
Vienna to Budapest (B)


In the morning at the appointed time, we’ll leave Vienna and head east 3 hours or so to the historic city of Budapest. Arriving in Budapest we’ll get a glimpse of this romantic city that straddles the east (Buda) and west (Pest) banks of the Danube River. This evening, be sure to enjoy a glass of wine from one of Hungary’s famous vineyards.

Day 7
Full Day Tour of Budapest (B)


Today your guide will take you on a full day guided tour of Budapest. You’ll witness medieval castles, grand architecture buildings, stunning churches, the charming Jewish quarter, and up Gellert Hill for an iconic view of the Budapest skyline. This evening, why not join your fellow travel mates out for one last night of fun!

Day 8
Trip Ends (B)


Trip ends after breakfast. The morning is free to spend at your own leisure. If you purchased airport transfers through us, then you are picked up at the hotel at the appropriate time and transferred to the airport to catch your flight home.

This is a locally guided GEC small group trip that is open for anyone to join. You can sign up as a solo traveler* OR join with a spouse, friends or other family members. All are welcome!
*Solo Travelers: You're in luck! No mandatory single supplements. We provide free roommate matching - unless, of course, you'd prefer a single room which you can purchase during checkout.


This tour requires a total minimum group size to run. Please DO NOT purchase your airfare or any personal travel requirements until you receive a written confirmation of guaranteed departure.

This trip starts in Prague, Czech Republic and ends in Budapest, Hungary, so be sure to book your flights or transportation accordingly.

Prices are based on double occupancy in twin rooms. If you would like your own room (where available), please choose the optional single room supplement at check out. If you do not mind being paired up with a roommate of the same gender, then the single supplement does not apply.

Visas are not required for citizens of most western countries including the US and Canada (be sure to reconfirm directly with the embassies in the country of your citizenship before departure).

A passport is always required. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 month following the last day of the tour.

Seasonal Info
  • The weather in Europe is typically warm and comfortable in the summer, with temperatures averaging about 70's or 80’s during the day and mid 60's at night. Spring (April – June) and Fall (September - November) are a similarly nice time to visit, but a little bit cooler.
