"Incredible views and peaceful culture" best describes this famous Himalayan trek to the popular Poon Hill. This trip is a great way to witness incredible views, experience the thrills of trekking in Nepal, and to enjoy a guided exploration of exotic Kathmandu.
This locally guided trek is ideal for those travelers seeking to experience the wonders of the Himalaya at an incredible price and definitely suited for both beginners and those with some hiking experience. Best of both worlds… see the spectacular and highest peaks in the world but at an altitude that is suitable for everyone.
Begin your trip at the evening Group Trip Orientation, followed by an included welcome dinner where you’ll get a chance to get to know your fellow travel mates. The next morning, why not join the group on the optional tour of the vibrant and exciting city of Kathmandu, exploring ancient temples, Buddhist stupas and other historical sites of this amazing city a top UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll also have time to explore all of the boutique shops that make this exhilarating Nepalese capital a must for exotic souvenirs and inexpensive trekking gear.
We then travel 5 to 6 hours via a private tourist van through Nepal’s countryside and off the beaten path villages to reach the lakeside town of Pokhara set in the foothills of the Himalaya. From here we set off on the 6 day trek with our Sherpa guide and porters to carry your main bag. After starting off in Rhododendron forests we hike our way through quaint Nepalese villages only accessible on foot via winding trails and cobbled paths. Along the way you will witness incredible views of snowcapped mountains and enjoy a breathtaking sunrise on top of the famous Poon Hill as it reflects the morning glow across the whole of the Annapurna Mountain Range. As you enjoy the local culture, witness Yaks carrying supplies between local villages, take a soak in a natural, riverside hot spring and breathe in the fresh, clean air of the roof of the world.
When you return to Kathmandu, why not indulge yourself with one of Kathmandu's famous and inexpensive post-trek-massages... a 'must do' treat regularly experienced by many of the travelers who trek among these amazing mountains.
while in Nepal, why not add on the 10 day group trip to Bhutan
immediately following this trip.

Getting an early start, travel with your Sherpa guide (and a Sherpa porter who will carry your 1 main bag) through lovely villages to the town of Naya Pul, where you will begin your trek. From Naya Pul, your trek follows the main trail along the river and steadily up the valley to Tikhedhunga village and Urlleri where you will spend the night in a traditional Nepalese tea house.
Urlleri to Ghorepani (9,350 feet - 4 to 5 hours - about 6 miles) (B, L, D)
Leaving Urlleri after a hearty breakfast, you will cross a stream and climb a stone staircase to the village of Magar. From here, the trail leads you through lush forests, farming villages and across sparkling streams. As you climb, the views open up and the mountains seem to get closer and closer, including your first views of iconic “Fishtail” Mountain.
