Later, you will get together with the local guide to discuss the itinerary and to answer any last minute questions. The remainder of the day is yours to relax and enjoy the beautiful gardens and outdoor pool of the hotel.

Overnight: Arusha

Day 2:

After breakfast, your guide will take you on a visit to local cultural sites that are near and dear to their heart. Visits could include a local tribal village, local schools, coffee farm, etc. The goal will be to get you a bit off the beaten path to see the Tanzania that most tourists don't get a chance to see. (Breakfast included)
Overnight: Arusha

Day 3:

After an early breakfast you will meet up with your guide and travel 3-4 hours through the Tanzanian countryside and villages from Arusha to Lake Manyara, stopping for lunch enroute. In the afternoon you will experience a game drive at Lake Manyara National Park. The park is famous for its huge variety of birdlife (almost 400 different species) and for its elephant population and tree-climbing lions. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)
Overnight: Serengeti area hotel

Day 4:

Today you travel from the hotel to Lake Eyasi. Here you may see some of the local birds along the shore, as well as a wide variety of wildlife including leopards, hippos, monkeys, flamingos, storks, and pelicans. Here you may also meet a local tribe. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)
NOTE: your safari guide may recommend changing the itinerary to a different park (or visit the Bush Tribes), depending on animal activity and other factors.
Overnight: Serengeti area hotel

Day 5:

Getting another early start, you travel 3-4 hours to the gates of the world famous Serengeti National Park, via a stop at Olduvai Gorge; an archaeological site located in the eastern Serengeti plains, in which early human fossils were first discovered. After lunch you will begin one of the highlights of the trip and of adventure travel in general; a spectacular afternoon game drive through the Serengeti Plains tracking the great animals of Africa. Keep your fingers crossed that we encounter all of the Big 5 of Africa: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and the elusive rhino (zebra and wildebeest are everywhere!)..

Tonight you'll spend an exciting night in a comfortable tent camp near the Serengeti Plains, typically the highlight of most people's stay in Tanzania! This fantastic tent camp is equipped with a private shower and toilets, comfortable beds, and table & chairs, giving you the excitement of camping, but with the comforts of a hotel. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)
Overnight: Mobile tent camp near Serengeti

Day 6:

Following a delicious breakfast you'll head out and spend a full day continuing to explore the vast and spectacular Serengeti. Your guide will know the best places to find the constantly moving and sometimes elusive animals of these great plains. Again you will spend another amazing night near the Serengeti at your luxury tent camp. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)
Overnight: Mobile tent camp near Serengeti

Day 7:

Leaving the amazing Serengeti Plains after a morning game drive, you will make your way to the massive Ngorongoro Crater National Park. Perhaps more awe-inspiring than the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater is not only one of nature’s true wonders, it is also a photographer’s dream. Being the largest intact crater in the world, Ngorongoro is the massive remnants of a once mighty volcano that collapsed upon itself 2 million years ago. The result is an unbroken circular wall that measures 2,000 feet high, 10 miles across and features a flat, fertile floor. Due to its height, passing clouds get caught up on the crater, providing precious rainwater all year. Today the crater is a self-contained, year-round Garden of Eden for 30,000 plus animals of all kinds and the perfect spot for safaris any day of the year. Ngorongoro is, beyond question, a sight that you will never forget. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)

After visiting Ngorongoro Crater, you will make the much anticipated stop to visit an active Masai Mara village (extra cost), where you get a chance to interact with the Masai people in their traditional setting, visit their homes and schools, and experience their culture. Often the Masai morans (young Masai warriors) will perform their traditional dance. You also get an opportunity to purchase traditional Masai souvenirs, art and collectibles
Overnight: Serengeti area hotel

Day 8:

In the morning we drive two hours for a morning game drive of Tarangire National Park, then travel back to Arusha in the late afternoon. (Breakfast, lunch are included)
Overnight: Arusha

Day 9:

Our adventure ends after breakfast. If you purchased airport transfers, transfer to the Kilimanjaro Airport. (Breakfast is included)
